avid Tindle, born 1932 in Huddersfield, is renowned for his delicate egg tempera paintings, reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth and Vilhelm Hammershøi.
His art conveys a spiritual essence within everyday objects, reflecting a British Romantic tradition noted by art critic Brian Sewell. After graduating from Coventry School of Art in 1947, Tindle held his first solo exhibition in 1954 at Piccadilly Gallery in London.
