orn Damien Brennan in 1965, Damien Hirst, an English artist, is a key figure among the Young British Artists (YBAs) who reshaped 1990s UK art.

Valued at $384 million in 2020, he’s among the UK’s wealthiest living artists. Hirst’s art often explores death, featuring preserved animals in formaldehyde, like a 14-foot tiger shark. His works include “spin paintings” and “spot paintings.”

In 2008, Hirst made auction history at Sotheby’s, raising £111 million ($198 million), notably achieving £10.3 million for “The Golden Calf” with 18-carat gold elements.
